Our Story

FLAT Rigs™ Inc. is a manufacturer of Professional Grade Complete Outrigger Rigging Kits and indivdual Shock Cords.  We also offer individual outrigger replacement components manufactured by others that we feel are the best available. The Company was created- and is experiencing great success, because we feel we have solved the frustrations and sytematic replacement costs associated with using inferior outrigger components.  FLAT Rigs™ has replaced the "traditonal" bungee cord used as the "shock" component of the cord assembly with a polymer cord- and by utilizing only the highest quality components throughout our kits.

No longer will you experience the frustration (and expense) of using- and continually replacing ill-suited bungee cords, heat shrink, plastic pulleys, and/or tin crimps.   You won't find any of this in our kits- especially- those ever-popular cork stop balls.   With the rising costs of gas and insurance, don't let your trip be ruined by a broken bungee cord, cotton halyard line fraying, or a rusted release clip- failing to open when the bite turns on.

Validating our claims that we offer the highest quality product in the marketplace, FLAT Rigs™ patent pending shock cords and complete “rigging” kits are chosen as standard equipment on some of the world’s finest custom, production, tournament, and TV boats, as well as select tackle shops throughout the country.  These clients are not, and will not be paid to endorse our products.  These experienced TV and tournament fisherman choose to put us on their rigs.

About the Shock Cord

100% EPDM Shock Cords contain NO Rubber

What makes FLAT Rigs™ the Best? We use 100% EPDM cords as the “shock” component of the outrigger cord. These polymer cords contain no rubber and will not blacken an angler’s hands or boat gunnels for the life of the cord. Our EPDM shock cords are UV Resistant and Waterproof. If you still aren’t convinced, we offer a 3-YEAR WARRANTY against breakage, excessive stretch, chaffing, or corrosion. In addition, the more durable EPDM allows for increased tensioning of halyard lines vs. traditional bungee cords. This greater tensioning reduces “pole bounce” that preserves your outrigger mounts while providing trolled baits a more consistent presentation.
